STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS 12340C1
This legislation amends Sec. 67-7103 to clarify that a snowmobile
identification number shall be attached to the snowmobile in a
manner as prescribed by rules of the department, and also amends
Sec. 67-7104 to provide the IDPR Director authority to approve
exemptions to the general rule requiring non-resident snowmobilers
to purchase a non-resident snowmobile user certificate to operate
within the boundaries of the state. With this amendment, the state
can, by agreement, exempt snowmobilers who operate on snowmobile
trails groomed and operated by a neighboring state that cross into
Idaho, but receive no financial support from Idaho to operate on
these trails, without purchasing the required non-resident
certificate.
