BY RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE
1 AN ACT
2 RELATING TO THE BOARD OF SCALING PRACTICES; AMENDING SECTION 38-1207, IDAHO
3 CODE, TO REDUCE MINIMUM NUMBER OF REQUIRED MEETINGS OF THE BOARD OF SCAL-
4 ING PRACTICES AND TO MAKE TECHNICAL CORRECTIONS.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. That Section 38-1207, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
7 amended to read as follows:
8 38-1207. MEETINGS -- OFFICERS -- QUORUM. The board shall hold a meeting
9 within thirty (30) days after its members are first appointed and thereafter
10 shall hold at least four (4) two (2) regular meetings each year. The rules and
11 regulations may provide for such additional regular meetings and for special
12 meetings. Notice of all meetings shall be given as may be provided in the
13 rules. and regulations. The director of the department of lands shall be
14 chairman of the state board of scaling practices and the board shall annually
15 elect a vicechairman vice-chairman and a secretary, who shall be members of
16 the board. Four (4) members shall constitute a quorum.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS 12451
The purpose of this bill is to reduce the minimum number of
meetings of the state board of scaling practice is required to hold each
year. There are times when there is no business to conduct but the board
is compelled to meet by statue.
FISCAL IMPACT
There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund. There may be some savings
to the associated dedicated fund achieved from not having meetings. These
savings would derive from travel costs, staff time costs, materials costs
and other miscellaneous costs associated with having a meeting.
