| DEFENDANTS - MENTAL ILLNESS EXAMS - Amends existing law relating to examinations of defendants for evidence of mental conditions to provide that professionals determined by the court to be qualified to examine a defendant's mental condition may be appointed to examine and report upon the mental condition of a defendant at sentencing; and to provide that additional examinations need not be ordered by the court in certain circumstances. |
