                                    HOUSE BILL NO. 527

                               BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION FOR FISCAL YEAR
 3        1998; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 5        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in  Section  1,  Chapter
 6    257,  Laws of 1997, there is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Governor
 7    for the Human Rights Commission the following amount to be  expended  for  the
 8    designated  program  according  to the designated standard classification from
 9    the listed fund for the period July 1, 1997, through June 30, 1998:

15        SECTION 2.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
16    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its

                                         STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This bill is a fiscal year 1998 supplemental for the Human Rights Commission.  It provides one-time
and ongoing funding to pay for personnel costs related to the impending retirement of current
Director.
