                                    HOUSE BILL NO. 803

                                BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    RELATING TO THE GOVERNOR'S IDAHO LEWIS AND CLARK TRAIL COMMITTEE FUND;  AMEND-
 3        ING  TITLE  67, IDAHO CODE, BY THE ADDITION OF A NEW CHAPTER 86, TITLE 67,
 4        IDAHO CODE, TO CREATE THE GOVERNOR'S IDAHO LEWIS AND CLARK TRAIL COMMITTEE
 5        FUND AND SPECIFY PURPOSES OF THE FUND.

 6    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 7        SECTION 1.  That Title 67, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby  amended
 8    by  the addition thereto of a  NEW CHAPTER , to be known and desig-
 9    nated as Chapter 86, Title 67, Idaho Code, and to read as follows:

11                           LEWIS AND CLARK TRAIL COMMITTEE

12        67-8601.  GOVERNOR'S IDAHO LEWIS AND CLARK TRAIL COMMITTEE FUND. There  is
13    hereby  created  the  governor's Idaho Lewis and Clark trail committee fund in
14    the state treasury. Moneys in the fund may consist of donations,  ticket  sale
15    proceeds,  contributions,  appropriations,  grants,  gifts,  bequests or other
16    sources and shall be utilized in support of the efforts of the advisory  board
17    to  preserve  the  Lewis  and  Clark trail and other needs related directly to
18    overseeing and coordinating the bicentennial commemoration of  the  Lewis  and
19    Clark corps of discovery.

                          STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

    The purpose of this legislation is to create a Governor's 
    Idaho Lewis and Clark Committee Fund in which to put donations, 
    grants, gifts, bequests, etc. that the Committee receives in 
    furtherance of its duties.
    
                               FISCAL NOTE
    
    There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund. The 
    Governor's Idaho Lewis and Clark Committee is composed of 
    volunteers. Money to support administrative needs of the Committee 
    will be sought from private sources and placed in a dedicated 
    account. Such funds will only be used for activities that relate 
    to operating needs of the Committee such as correspondence, 
    mailings, telephone conference calls, production of minutes, 
    production of publications and brochures, fiscal record keeping 
    and other needs directly related to commemorating the Bicentennial 
    of the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery.
