S1327|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-fourth Legislature Second Regular Session - 1998IN THE SENATE SENATE BILL NO. 1327 BY FINANCE COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE AND TAXATION FOR 3 FISCAL YEAR 1998; AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL THIRTEEN ONE-HUNDREDTHS FULL- 4 TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 2, Chapter 7 252, Laws of 1997, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Revenue 8 and Taxation the following amounts to be expended for the Board of Tax Appeals 9 Program according to the designated standard classifications from the listed 10 fund for the period July 1, 1997, through June 30, 1998: 11 FOR FOR 12 PERSONNEL OPERATING 13 COSTS EXPENDITURES TOTAL 14 FROM: 15 General Fund $19,200 $1,800 $21,000 16 SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Department 17 of Revenue and Taxation is authorized an additional thirteen one-hundredths 18 (.13) full-time equivalent position for the period July 1, 1997, through June 19 30, 1998. 20 SECTION 3. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby 21 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its 22 passage and approval.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
SB 1327
This fiscal year 1998 supplemental appropriation provides $21,000 additional funding for the Board of
Tax Appeals.

This bill provides moneys from the General Fund for three purposes. First, $4,500 is provided to fund
260 additional hours for one of the two technical records specialists. Second, $6,800 is provided for
commissioner compensation and travel costs. Third, the current director will retire in June.
One-time funding of $9,700 is provided to pay the director's accrued annual leave and costs to
double-fill the director's position for about 3 pay periods for training purposes.
