In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Public 29 Utilities Commission is authorized no more than fifty-six (56) full-time 30 equivalent positions at any point during the period July 1, 1998 through June 31 30, 1999, for the programs specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifi- 32 cally authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee 33 will be notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized. 34 SECTION 3. Notwithstanding any other provisions of law, there is hereby 35 appropriated from the Public Utilities Commission Fund and transferred to the 36 General Fund an amount equal to the General Fund expenditures of the Public 37 Utilities Commission for the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 1999.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
SB 1532
This is the fiscal year 1999 appropriation for the Public Utilities Commission in the
amount of $4,324,300. This budget includes funding for two new positions. These utility
policy advisors will assist the commission with policy and technical issues. The RS
limits the number of FY99 positions to 56. It also provides that, at year end, an amount
equal to the General Fund expenditures for commissioner compensation be transferred from
the Public Utilities Fund to the General Fund.
