Appropriates $1,300,000 to the State Board of Education for fiscal year

                                   SENATE BILL NO. 1546

                                   BY FINANCE COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY  OF  IDAHO  AND
 3        THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999; AND EXPRESSING LEGISLA-
 4        TIVE  INTENT WITH RESPECT TO EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS FOR TECHNOLOGY IN LEARN-
 5        ING.

 6    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 7        SECTION 1.  There is hereby appropriated to the Board of  Regents  of  the
 8    University of Idaho and the State Board of Education, the following amount for
 9    technology  in  learning projects, to be expended for the period July 1, 1998,
10    through June 30, 1999:

12    General Fund                                                        $1,300,000

13        SECTION 2.  It is legislative intent that the State Council for Technology
14    in Learning make a recommendation, subject to review and approval by the State
15    Board of Education, on the use and allocation of funds appropriated for  tech-
16    nology in learning projects in Section 1 of this act.
