                                   SENATE BILL NO. 1548

                                   BY FINANCE COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT

 5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 6        SECTION  1.  There  is  hereby appropriated to the Lieutenant Governor the
 7    following amounts, to be expended according to designated standard classifica-
 8    tions from the listed fund for the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 1999:
 9    FOR:

15        SECTION 2.  It is legislative intent that an amount, not to exceed  $1,000
16    of the amounts appropriated in Section 1, may be used at the discretion of the
17    Lieutenant  Governor  to assist in defraying expenses relating to or resulting
18    from the discharge of the Lieutenant Governor's official duties.  Such  moneys
19    shall  be  accounted  for according to the provisions of Chapter 36, Title 67,
20    Idaho Code, and Section 67-3516, Idaho Code.

21        SECTION 3.  In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Office  of
22    the  Lieutenant  Governor is authorized no more than two (2) full-time equiva-
23    lent positions at any point during the period July 1, 1998, through  June  30,
24    1999,  for the program specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifically
25    authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee will be
26    notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized.

This appropriation of $98,200 for the Lieutenant Governor includes a standard personnel
cost rollup, a 2.6% inflationary adjustment, and a 5% Change in Employee Compensation
(CEC).  The 5% CEC figure does not include any salary adjustments for the Lieutenant
