5 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

6 WHEREAS, in 1991, the Idaho Legislature created a committee and charged it

12 enrollment in Idaho schools; and
13 WHEREAS, when the committee reported in 1993, it reported a need of
14 approximately $699,500,000 required to upgrade the physical condition of
15 existing buildings, add capacity to meet enrollment needs, and bring existing

17 WHEREAS, in the intervening years, the legislature has considered multiple
18 alternative approaches to assist school districts to address this need; and

This proposal would create an interim committee to develop a plan to
help local school districts meet the escalating needs for school
facilities. There have been many and various proposals through the
years, but nothing has been implemented to date.
