                                BY STATE AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    RELATING TO SALARIES OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSIONERS;  AMENDING  SECTION
 3        61-215,  IDAHO CODE, TO INCREASE THE SALARIES OF THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COM-
 4        MISSIONERS ON AND AFTER JULY 1, 1999 AND TO MAKE A TECHNICAL CORRECTION.

 5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 6        SECTION 1.  That Section 61-215, Idaho Code, be, and the  same  is  hereby
 7    amended to read as follows:

 8        61-215.  SALARIES  OF  PUBLIC  UTILITIES COMMISSIONERS. Each member of the
 9    public utilities commission shall devote  full  time  to  the  performance  of
10    his  /her    duties and shall each receive an annual salary as fol-
11    lows: Commencing on July 1, 199 8  9 , an annual  salary
12    of  seventy-  three  five   thousand  dollars ($7 3
13     5 ,000), and shall be paid from sources set by the  legisla-
14    ture.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                     STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

                           RS08606C1

To provide a $2,000 annual salary increase to adjust the
salary for Public Utilities Commissioners from $73,000 to
$75,000 effective July 1, 1999.

                          FISCAL NOTE

No impact to the general fund. Impact is to the Public
Utilities fund in the amount of $8,525.00 annually.
