  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE SECRETARY OF STATE FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001;  EXPRESS-
  3        ING  LEGISLATIVE INTENT WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN EXPENDITURES; AND LIMITING
  4        THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION 1.  There is hereby appropriated to the Secretary  of  State,  the
  7    following amounts, to be expended for the designated programs according to the
  8    designated  expense classes from the listed funds for the period July 1, 2000,
  9    through June 30, 2001:

 25        SECTION 2.  It is legislative intent that an amount not to  exceed  $1,000
 26    of  the  amount appropriated in Section 1 of this act, may be used at the dis-
 27    cretion of the Secretary of State to assist in defraying expenses relating  to
 28    or  resulting  from the discharge of the Secretary of State's official duties.
 29    Such moneys shall be accounted for according to the provisions of Chapter  36,
 30    Title 67, Idaho Code, and Section 67-3516, Idaho Code.
                                                                        
 31        SECTION  3.  In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Office of
 32    the Secretary of State is authorized no more than  thirty-two  (32)  full-time
 33    equivalent positions at any point during the period July 1, 2000, through June
 34    30, 2001, for the programs specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifi-
 35    cally  authorized  by the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee
 36    will be notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized.

This is the FY 2001 appropriation for the Office of the Secretary of State.

Although the Commission on the Arts is statutorily situated in the Office of the Secretary of State, the Arts Commission appropriation is contained in its own bill.
