2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION IN ADDITION TO THE APPRO-
3 PRIATION MADE IN SECTION 1, HOUSE BILL NO. 777, ENACTED BY THE SECOND REG-
4 ULAR SESSION OF THE FIFTY-FIFTH IDAHO LEGISLATURE.
5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
6 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, House Bill
7 No. 777, enacted by the Second Regular Session of the Fifty-fifth Idaho Legis-
8 lature, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Correction the fol-
9 lowing amount, to be expended for the designated program according to the des-
10 ignated expense class from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2000,
11 through June 30, 2001:

This is the fiscal year 2001 trailer appropriation to the Department of Correction for the fiscal impact of House Bill 530 that changes the rate of pay to counties for housing state inmates from $35 a day to $40 a day.
 
| Fiscal Note |
The fiscal impact of this bill is $404,200 from the General Fund to pay counties that hold state inmates in county jails. The current appropriation for county payments in House Bill 777 for FY 2001 is $2,829,100. The new total for inmate beds with this additional $404,200 will be $3,233,300 for services beginning July 1, 2000 through May 30, 2001. Of the total $404,200 appropriated $365,000 is ongoing funding, and $39,200 is one-time.
