  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE SUPREME COURT FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001.
                                                                        
  3    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  4        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, House Bill
  5    No. 778, enacted by the Second Regular Session of the Fifty-fifth Idaho Legis-
  6    lature, there is hereby appropriated to the Supreme Court the following amount
  7    to be expended for the listed fund for the period July 1, 2000,  through  June
  8    30, 2001:

Statement of Purpose

This is a trailer appropriation bill for FY 2001 for the Judicial Branch to fund the retirement enhancements enacted by HB 760 and a 3.5% CEC for members of the judiciary enabled by HB 761.

Fiscal Note

The total amount appropriated from the General Fund is $542,800. Of this total, $85,800 is provided for the impact of HB 760. The Court of Appeals was provided $10,700, District Courts $13,000, and the Magistrate Division $35,000 for the salary increase for Pro-Tem Judges; and $27,100 was provided to the District Courts to convert the value of sick leave to health insurance benefits for retirees. The funding for the 3.5% salary increase is as follows: Supreme Court $18,200; Court of Appeals $10,900; District Courts $132,700; and the Magistrate Division $295,200 for a total impact of $457,000 for HB 761.
