2 RELATING TO POWERS OF THE DIRECTOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION; AMEND-
3 ING SECTION 67-5767, IDAHO CODE, TO REQUIRE THE DIRECTOR TO PROVIDE SER-
4 VICES IN CONTRACTING FOR INSURANCE FOR SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER POLITI-
5 CAL SUBDIVISIONS.
6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
7 SECTION 1. That Section 67-5767, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
8 amended to read as follows:
9 67-5767. DIRECTOR MAY PROVIDE SERVICE TO SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND OTHER
10 POLITICAL SUBDIVISIONS. (1) Under terms and procedures mutually agreed upon by
11 contract, the director of the department of administration may shall render
12 the same services with respect to personnel of any school district or other
13 political subdivision of the state of Idaho at their request. The cost of any
14 group insurance, group annuity or health care service coverage so provided and
15 of administration thereof shall be borne by the school district or political
16 subdivision.
17 (2) Governmental entity for the purpose of this section means any organi-
18 zation composed of units of government of Idaho or organizations funded only
19 by government or government employee contributions or organizations who dis-
20 charge governmental responsibilities that would otherwise be performed by gov-
21 ernment. All government entities are deemed to be political subdivisions for
22 the purpose of this act.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS 10975
The purpose of this legislation is to require the Department ot
Administration to allow school districts and other political
subdivisions of the state to participate in group insurance, group
annuity or health care service coverage.
FISCAL IMPACT
The cost will be borne by the school districts or other political
subdivisions. Participation in a larger group may decrease these costs,
however this cannot be predicted with certainty because it will depend
on actual claims experience.
