  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION FOR FISCAL YEAR  2002;
  3        AND LIMITING THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS.
                                                                        
  4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  5        SECTION  1.  There  is hereby appropriated to the Public Utilities Commis-
  6    sion the following amounts to be expended according to the designated  expense
  7    classes  from  the  listed funds for the period July 1, 2001, through June 30,
  8    2002:

 18        SECTION 2.  In accordance with Section 67-3519,  Idaho  Code,  the  Public
 19    Utilities  Commission  is  authorized  no  more than forty-nine (49) full-time
 20    equivalent positions at any point during the period July 1, 2001, through June
 21    30, 2002, for the programs specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifi-
 22    cally authorized by the Governor. The Joint  Finance-Appropriations  Committee
 23    will be notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized.

This is the fiscal year 2002 Appropriation for the Public Utilities Commission in the amount of $4,420,500. The source of funding in is primarily from fees collected from the regulated utilities and railroad corporations but also contains a small amount of federal funding approved as part of a pipeline safety program.
