2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION FOR COMMIS-
3 SIONER SALARIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002; APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO
4 THE STATE TAX COMMISSION FOR COMMISSIONER SALARIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002;
5 AND APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION FOR COM-
6 MISSIONER SALARIES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002.
7 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
8 SECTION 1. In addition to any other appropriation, there is hereby appro-
9 priated to the Public Utilities Commission for commissioner salaries and bene-
10 fit costs, to be expended according to the designated expense class from the
11 listed fund for the period July 1, 2001, through June 30, 2002:

13 Personnel Costs $12,600

15 Public Utilities Commission Fund $12,600
16 SECTION 2. In addition to any other appropriation, there is hereby appro-
17 priated to the State Tax Commission for commissioner salaries and benefit
18 costs, to be expended according to the designated expense class from the
19 listed funds for the period July 1, 2001, through June 30, 2002:

This is a fiscal year 2002 trailer appropriation to fund the 4.5% salary adjustment for the commissioners of the Public Utilities Commission, State Tax Commission, and Industrial Commission as a result of the passage of H306 and H356. H306 increased the salaries of the PUC commissioners by $3,493 (from $77,625 to $81,118) and the Industrial Commissioners by $3,400 (from $75,555 to $78,955). H356 increased the salaries of the Tax Commissioners by $3,027 (from $67,275 to $70,302).

The impact on the General Fund is $13,100. The three Public Utility Commissioners’ salaries and three Industrial Commissioners’ salaries are funded with dedicated funds. The increased salaries and benefits amount to $12,600 from the Public Utilities Commission Fund and $12,300 from the Industrial Administration Fund. The PUC Fund comes from fees collected on the gross operating revenues of the regulated utilities. The Industrial Administration Fund comes from workers’ compensation premiums. The salaries of the State Tax Commissioners are paid 90% from the General Fund and 10% from the Administration Services to Transportation Fund. The increased salaries and benefits amount to $13,100 from the General Fund and $1,400 from dedicated funds. The total spending authority provided by this bill is $39,400.
