SENATE BILL NO. 1034
BY RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE
1 AN ACT
2 RELATING TO THE COMPREHENSIVE STATE WATER PLAN; RATIFYING AND APPROVING THE
3 AMENDED COMPREHENSIVE STATE WATER PLAN FOR THE PRIEST RIVER BASIN AS
4 ADOPTED BY THE IDAHO WATER RESOURCE BOARD ON AUGUST 22, 2003; AND DECLAR-
5 ING AN EMERGENCY.
6 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
7 SECTION 1. That pursuant to section 42-1734B(6), Idaho Code, the amended
8 Comprehensive State Water Plan for the Priest River basin, adopted by resolu-
9 tion of the Idaho Water Resource Board on August 22, 2003, be, and the same is
10 hereby ratified and approved. The plan amendments allow modification of the
11 fall operation schedule for the Priest Lake outlet structure to provide lake
12 levels more favorable to Kokanee spawning.
13 SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby
14 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
15 passage and approval.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS 14598
Passage of this legislation will give final approval of
amendments to the Priest River Basin component of the
Comprehensive State Water Plan. The Plan amendments provide for
changes in fall operation of the Priest Lake outlet structure to
minimize impacts on fall-spawning kokanee.
FISCAL IMPACT
Enactment of this legislation will have no effect upon the
state's general fund or other state or local funds.
