CRAIG WHYTE AND 3 MS. MEGAN WARDWELL WHO HAVE EACH RECEIVED A NATIONAL PRUDENTIAL SPIRIT OF 4 COMMUNITY AWARD. 5 Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of Idaho: 6 WHEREAS, Mr. Craig Whyte, an esteemed resident of Blackfoot and a student 7 at Snake River High School, and Ms. Megan Wardwell, an esteemed resident of 8 Boise and a student at Les Bois Junior High School, have each achieved 9 national recognition for exemplary volunteer service by receiving a 1998 10 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and 11 WHEREAS, this prestigious award, presented by The Prudential Insurance 12 Company of America in partnership with the national Association of Secondary 13 School Principals, honors young volunteers across America who have demon- 14 strated an extraordinary commitment to serving their communities; and 15 WHEREAS, Mr. Whyte earned this award by giving generously of his time and 16 energy to clean up the community after the massive flooding in 1997 and for 17 coordinating school personnel, students and local merchants in order to pro- 18 vide activities and counseling for children left homeless by the flooding; and 19 WHEREAS, Ms. Wardwell earned this award by giving generously and continu- 20 ously of her time and energy as volunteer for the local chapter of the Humane 21 Society for the past four years dedicating fifty hours per week feeding and 22 walking animals and cleaning cages as well as supporting fundraising projects; 23 and 24 WHEREAS, the success of the state of Idaho, the strength of our communi- 25 ties and the overall vitality of American society depend, in great measure, 26 upon the dedication of young people like Mr. Whyte and Ms. Wardwell who use 27 their considerable talents and resources to serve others. 28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the House of Representa- 29 tives, assembled in the Second Regular Session of the Fifty-fourth Idaho Leg- 30 islature, that this legislative body hereby congratulates and honors Mr. Craig 31 Whyte and Ms. Megan Wardwell as recipients of a Prudential Spirit of Community 32 Award, and recognizes their outstanding record of volunteer service, peer 33 leadership and community spirit, and extends best wishes to both Mr. Whyte and 34 Ms. Wardwell for continued success and happiness.
