Analyst Comment: The Department of Law Enforcement’s name was changed to the Idaho State Police in HB 660 during the 2000 Legislative Session. Programs under the Division of the Idaho State Police are the Director’s Office, Investigations, Patrol, Law Enforcement Programs, Support Services, and Forensic Services. Brand Inspection, POST Academy, and Racing Division under the newly named department each have a single budgetary program.
