State designation of this trail is a first and important step toward gaining national recognition of the Great Western Trail and the addition of that trail to the National Trail System. FISCAL IMPACT None: There will be no additional cost to the State of Idaho. The trail is currently being maintained from state funds received from snowmobile registration. It is expected that the designation of this trail will have a positive impact to the tourism industry in all of Eastern Idaho. Contact Name: Rep.
