STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 11770 This legislation makes clear that all sections of Title 33 do apply to charter schools, unless specifically waived in Chapter 52 of Idaho Code. In Idaho Code 33-5210, charter schools are exempt from rules governing school districts, which have been promulgated by the State Board of Education by the Superintendent of Public Education, with some noted exceptions. Often people opening new charter schools do not know the difference between State Rules and Idaho Code. FISCAL IMPACT There will be no impact on the state budget or appropriation to public schools.
