  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR THE MILITARY
  3        DIVISION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  5        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in  Section  1,  Chapter
  6    73,  Laws  of 2004, there is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Governor
  7    for the Military Division the following amount to be expended for  the  desig-
  8    nated  program  according to the designated expense class from the listed fund
  9    for the period July 1, 2004, through June 30, 2005:
 10    BUREAU OF HOMELAND SECURITY:
 11    FOR:
 12    Operating Expenditures                                                 $35,000
 13    FROM:
 14    Interoperability Fund                                                  $35,000
                                                                        
 15        SECTION 2.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 16    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 17    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact


Statement of Purpose
RS14619

This is a fiscal year 2005 supplemental appropriation for the Bureau of Homeland Security within the Military Division. The National Governors Association awarded a grant to Idaho along with four other states to participate in a Public Safety Wireless Communications Interoperability Policy Academy. The purpose of the academy is to help states develop an interoperability plan that improves emergency response communications.

Fiscal Note

This bill authorizes the Bureau of Homeland Security to expend a $35,000 grant from the National Governors Association.
