This legislation is a fiscal year 2008 supplemental appropriation to the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation in the amount of $1,472,100.
The appropriation provides dedicated spending authority for two purposes and federal funding spending authority for two other purposes. First, this legislation provides $447,500 to pass additional snowmobile registration fees to eligible counties. Second, it provides $538,100 to pass additional boat registration fees to eligible counties.
Third, it provides an increase in federal spending authority in the amount of $386,500 to reflect an increase in the Recreation Trails Program grant. Monies from this award are passed through to federal agencies, counties, and cities to enhance the recreation trails in Idaho. And last, the bill provides $100,000 in federal spending authority, of which $25,000 is for operating expenditures to purchase educational materials used to teach boating safety classes and $75,000 is for trustee and benefit payments to allow monies to be passed through to counties to operate their boating safety programs.
