Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law (1986); Bachelor of Science in criminal justice – cum laude – University of Houston (1982); Basic Police Certification School (Police Academy) with Texas A&M University/HGAC (1977); Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards & Education: Advanced Peace Officer Certification (Permanent License), Law Enforcement Instructor Certification, and Certified Jailer; admitted to practice: State Bar of Texas 1993 and Washington State Bar 2003; completed more than 2000 hours of professional continuing education covering law enforcement and legal topics; currently serving as General Counsel & Chief Law Enforcement Advisor U.S. Bill of Rights Foundation (USBOR); engaged in the private practice of law since 1993, working primarily in the areas of constitutional law, taxation and monetary issues, business law, small company start-up, and operation; extensive civil and criminal trial experience and currently concentrates on constitutional issues.
