Born in Elizabethtown, PA; graduate of Georgia Tech (B.S. in environmental biology) and University of Arizona (M.S. in renewable natural resources); worked in public lands conservation for entire career, including with the U.S. Forest Service (2001-2008), as executive director of the Selway-Bitterroot Frank Church Foundation (2008-2013) and currently with The Wilderness Society as the Central Idaho Representative (2013-present); co-founded the Boise Bike Boulevard Coalition and served on the board of the Sunset Neighborhood Association (2014-2018) and Idaho Trails Association; spouse: Gwen.
