Served first term with House of Representatives in 2014; born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah; B.S. in economics from University of Utah; M.A. and Ph.D. in economics from University of Connecticut; economics professor at BYU-Idaho; during his 22-year teaching career, has helped nearly 10,000 students understand the blessings of America’s free-market economic system; is an active community member along with his wife, Maria Olsen Nate; four children (ages 17, 19, 21, and 23).
