STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 07910 This legislation amends Section 33-905, Idaho Code, to provide that for the purposes of distributing state lottery moneys to the local school districts, the Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind in Gooding shall be considered a school district and receive a distribution. FISCAL NOTE There is no impact on the General Fund since the funds involved are dedicated lottery profits. The public schools receive one-half of the lottery proceeds (the Permanent Building Fund receives one-half) which are distributed on the basis of average daily attendance. In the current FY 1998, the distribution amounted to $42.14 per student. With the addition of the Idaho School for the Deaf and the Blind's students (approximately 135 students), the distribution would have been $42.11. The distribution to the Deaf and Blind School would have been $5,685. Contact: Gordon Fisher Budget & Policy Analysis 334-4738 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE/FISCAL NOTE H 639
