View Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

APPROPRIATIONS - LOTTERY COMMISSION - Appropriates $11,416,300 to the
Lottery Commission in the Department of Self-Governing Agencies for fiscal
year 1999; limits the authorized full-time equivalent positions to 47; and
provides legislative intent that amounts necessary to pay prizes, retailer
commissions, advertising and promotional costs shall be continuously
appropriated.

H0784|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-fourth Legislature Second Regular Session - 1998IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 784 BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE LOTTERY COMMISSION FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999; LIMITING 3 THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS; AND EXPRESSING LEGISLATIVE 4 INTENT TO CLARIFY THE SCOPE OF THE APPROPRIATION. 5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 SECTION 1. There is hereby appropriated to the Lottery Commission in the 7 Department of Self-Governing Agencies the following amounts, to be expended 8 for administrative costs according to the designated standard classifications 9 from the listed fund for the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 1999: 10 FOR: 11 Personnel Costs $ 2,059,400 12 Operating Expenditures 8,487,900 13 Capital Outlay 869,000 14 TOTAL $11,416,300 15 FROM: 16 State Lottery Fund $11,416,300 17 SECTION 2. In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Lottery 18 Commission is authorized no more than forty-seven (47) full-time equivalent 19 positions at any point during the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 1999, 20 unless specifically authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance- 21 Appropriations Committee will be notified promptly of any increased positions 22 so authorized. 23 SECTION 3. It is legislative intent that amounts necessary to pay prizes, 24 retailer commissions, advertising and promotional costs shall be continuously 25 appropriated to the Lottery Commission under the provisions of Section 26 67-7428, Idaho Code.
