H0841|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-fourth Legislature Second Regular Session - 1998IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 841 BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTION FOR FISCAL 3 YEAR 1999. 4 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 5 SECTION 1. In addition to any other appropriation, there is hereby appro- 6 priated to the Department of Correction the following amount, to be expended 7 for the Administration Division according to the designated standard classifi- 8 cations from the listed fund for the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 9 1999: 10 FOR: 11 Personnel Costs $48,700 12 Operating Expenditures 13,100 13 Capital Outlay 7,900 14 TOTAL $69,700 15 FROM: 16 General Fund $69,700 17 SECTION 2. In addition to the full-time equivalent positions authorized 18 in Section 2, House Bill 821, as enacted by the Second Regular Session of the 19 Fifty-fourth Idaho Legislature, the Department of Correction is authorized one 20 (1) additional full-time equivalent position and no more than one thousand 21 three hundred sixty-one and sixty-nine hundredths (1,361.69) full-time equiva- 22 lent positions at any point during the period July 1, 1998, through June 30, 23 1999, unless specifically authorized by the Governor. The Joint Finance- 24 Appropriations Committee will be notified promptly of any increased positions 25 so authorized.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE HB 841 This bill appropriates money to the Department of Correction for the Administration Division for FY 1999 to implement the provisions of Senate Bill 1297, 1998 Legislature. Senate Bill 1297aa repeals and amends existing law to establish the "Sexual Offender Registration and Notification Act." to provide a central registry of offenders and a Sexual Offender Classification Board. The Department of Correction will be responsible for the Sexual Offender Classification Board. The Dept. of Correction will have the funding to hire an administrative assistant; funding to support a four-person board; and funding to purchase one-term capital outlay items to set up an office. This Sexual Offender Classification Board's office will be a part of the central administration of the Dept. of Correction.
