                                   SENATE BILL NO. 1319

                                   BY FINANCE COMMITTEE

 1                                        AN ACT
 2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH  AND  WELFARE  FOR
 3        PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 5        SECTION  1.  In  addition  to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
 6    161, Laws of 1997, there is hereby appropriated to the  Department  of  Health
 7    and Welfare for Public Health Services the following amount to be expended for
 8    the  designated  program  according  to the designated standard classification
 9    from the listed fund for the period July 1, 1997, through June 30, 1998:
10    PUBLIC HEALTH SERVICES:

12    Trustee and Benefit Payments                                          $400,000
13    FROM:
14    Food Safety Fund                                                      $400,000

15        SECTION 2.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
16    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
17    passage and approval.

                                               RS 07701

Appropriates $400,000 from the Food Safety Fund to the Department of Health and Welfare for Public
Health Services for fiscal year 1998.

This supplemental is due to passage of SB 1003 last session, which gave the Department of Health and
Welfare the authority to collect a license fee of $55 on each food facility in Idaho.  Spending
authority is provided to financially support the costs of Health District food facility inspections.
