 1                                        AN ACT
 2    RELATING TO VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION; AMENDING SECTION 33-2301,  IDAHO  CODE,
 3        TO PROVIDE ACCEPTANCE OF THE FEDERAL REHABILITATION ACT AMENDMENTS OF 1998
 4        AND TO PROVIDE A CURRENT REFERENCE TO THAT FEDERAL LAW.

 5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:

 6        SECTION  1.  That  Section 33-2301, Idaho Code, be, and the same is hereby
 7    amended to read as follows:

 8        33-2301.  ACCEPTANCE OF FEDERAL ACTS. The state of Idaho hereby renews its
 9    acceptance of the provisions and benefits of the act of Congress, entitled "An
10    act to provide for the promotion of vocational rehabilitation of persons  with
11    disabilities,  other  than  those  who  are legally blind, and their return to
12    employment," and further  accepts  "The  Rehabilitation  Act  of  1973,"  P.L.
13    93-112,  93rd  Congress,  and "The Rehabilitation Act Amendments of 199 3
14     8 ," P.L.  103-73    105-220  ,  
15    103rd   105th  Congress, and will observe and comply with all
16    requirements of such acts.

                        STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

   The continuation of the acceptance of the federal act
  regarding vocational rehabilitation, allows the state to
  continue to assist people with disabilities in becoming
  employed. IDVR can provide the services required to go to work
  and can assist in locating suitable employment. Only services
  that are required to reach employment will be provided.
  Services that may be provided: Professional Counseling;
  Evaluation; Medical Assistance; Training; Tools and License;
  Job Development and Placement; and Follow-along Services.
   
   Vocational Rehabilitation can provide other goods and services
  if they are needed to reach employment. Such services might be
  transportation, increased maintenance costs caused by the
  rehabilitation plan, or a referral to other appropriate
  private or public agencies for their special services.
   
                           FISCAL IMPACT 
                                    Fiscal impact remains the same with the acceptance of these
  amendments. The state will continue to match the federal
  funds as appropriated.
