Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                                AMENDED
                         STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
                                S 1152

The purpose of this legislation is to provide for a complimentary
fishing and hunting license for disabled veterans certified at a 40%
disability or above as a result of a service connected injury.

                              FISCAL NOTE

The number of veterans who could qualify for this license is
approximately 3,573. The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife
recoups 601 of their matching federal funds thru the sale of game
tags.

Using the ratio of veterans that have applied for the disabled
license in Oregon, the loss in revenue to the Fish and Game
Department would be approximately $10,000.
