Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                        STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

                              RS0947C1

This legislation prohibits members of the legislature from accepting
campaign contributions or pledges during a legislative session. It
imposes a civil penalty of $50.00 per violation.

                            FISCAL NOTE

There would be a very small positive fiscal impact to the state if
violations occurred.
