STATEMENT OF PURPOSE RS 08478 This legislation promotes public safety in that it provides for the destruction of bombs and other explosive devices which have been lawfully seized by a law enforcement agency. The failure to dispose of these bombs in a safe fashion presents a threat to-law enforcement personnel as well as to the public at large. The legislation also requires recording information to preserve a record of the bomb, its destruction, as well as other evidence which may later be required in trial. FISCAL NOTE There is no fiscal impact on the state general fund. CONTACT: Senator Denton Darrington 332-1317 STATEMENT OF PURPOSE/FISCAL NOTE S 1042
