  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING MONEYS TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR FOR THE OFFICE  OF  SPECIES
  3        CONSERVATION  FOR  THE PERIOD MAY 1, 2000, THROUGH JUNE 30, 2001; LIMITING
  4        THE NUMBER OF FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITIONS; DECLARING AN  EMERGENCY  AND
  5        PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
                                                                        
  6    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  7        SECTION 1.  There is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Governor for
  8    the  Office  of  Species  Conservation  the  following amounts, to be expended
  9    according to the designated expense classes  from  the  listed  fund  for  the
 10    period May 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001:
 11    FOR:
 12    Personnel Costs                                                       $400,000
 13    Operating Expenditures                                                 110,000
 14      TOTAL                                                               $510,000
 15    FROM:
 16    General Fund                                                          $510,000
                                                                        
 17        SECTION  2.  In accordance with Section 67-3519, Idaho Code, the Office of
 18    Species Conservation is authorized no more than five (5) full-time  equivalent
 19    positions  at  any point during the period May 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001,
 20    for the program specified in Section 1 of this act, unless specifically autho-
 21    rized by the Governor. The  Joint  Finance-Appropriations  Committee  will  be
 22    notified promptly of any increased positions so authorized.
                                                                        
 23        SECTION  3.  An  emergency  existing  therefor,  which emergency is hereby
 24    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after May
 25    1, 2000.

This bill is the appropriation for the Office of Species Conservation which was created by SB1490. The appropriation authorizes five positions, beginning May 1, 2000.

Provides an ongoing General Fund appropriation of $510,000 to support five positions for this new agency within the Governor’s Office.
