STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
RS-09823
This legislation is one of three bills that the Department of Law Enforcement -
Alcohol Beverage Control recommends to cure defects in the law or eliminate
ambiguities that cause confusion to the regulated public and citizens and
unnecessarily consumes time of police officers.
Specifically, this legislation applies to those few licensee's who employ
dancer-entertainers who perform dance or other acts with patrons that is
considered in violation to state law but difficult to prove and explain.
State law needs a more objective measure that allows licensee's, their employee
dancer-entertainers, patrons and state police to more easily know the limits. This
legislation provides a reasonable objective standard to clarify the existing
ambiguity.
FISCAL IMPACT
No negative fiscal impact. Should allow law enforcement to be more efficient.
