SENATE BILL NO. 1564
BY FINANCE COMMITTEE
1 AN ACT
2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEE RETIREMENT SYSTEM OF
3 IDAHO FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
4 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
5 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
6 233, Laws of 1999, there is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Governor
7 for the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho the following amount, to be
8 expended according to the designated expense class from the listed fund for
9 the period July 1, 1999, through June 30, 2000:
10 FOR:
11 Operating Expenditures $50,000
12 FROM:
13 Public Employee Retirement System Fund $50,000
14 SECTION 2. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby
15 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
16 passage and approval.

This is a Fiscal Year 2000 supplemental for the Public Employee Retirement System of Idaho (PERSI). The supplemental provides $50,000 in one-time funding from PERSI’s dedicated funds to undertake a study of what options exist that may help retired public employees deal with increasing medical insurance costs.
