|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-sixth Legislature First Regular Session - 2001IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE BILL NO. 94 BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE 1 AN ACT 2 APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001; 3 PROVIDING ONE ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME POSITION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001; AND 4 DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 5 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 SECTION 1. In addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter 7 448, Laws of 2000, there is hereby appropriated to the Attorney General the 8 following amount to be expended for the named program according to the desig- 9 nated expense classes from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2000, 10 through June 30, 2001: 11 FOR FOR FOR 12 PERSONNEL OPERATING CAPITAL 13 COSTS EXPENDITURES OUTLAY TOTAL 14 STATE LEGAL SERVICES: 15 Consumer Protection 16 Fund $34,700 $70,000 $9,200 $113,900 17 SECTION 2. In addition to the full-time positions authorized in Section 18 4, Chapter 448, Laws of 2000, the Attorney General is authorized one (1) addi- 19 tional position for a total of no more than one hundred seventy-eight and 20 nine-tenths (178.9) full-time equivalent positions at any point during the 21 period July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001, unless specifically authorized by 22 the Governor. The Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee shall be notified 23 promptly of any positions so authorized. 24 SECTION 3. An emergency existing therefor, which emergency is hereby 25 declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its 26 passage and approval.
Statement of Purpose RS10772 This is a FY 2001 supplemental appropriation for the Office of the Attorney General. Fiscal Note This bill appropriates funding from the Consumer Protection Fund to implement House Bill 744 that passed late in the 2000 legislative session. House Bill 744 directs the Office of the Attorney General to develop a program that protects consumers from unwanted telephone solicitation. Personnel costs total $34,700 for a secretarial position and for one-time clerical help. Operating expenditures are $70,000, with $67,100 being one-time for advertising, movers, a database, phone lines and system upgrades, printing costs, postage, and wiring. The ongoing expenses of $2,900 is for maintenance on the phone system. The $9,200 for capital outlay is for desks, computers, workstation panels, and office equipment.
