                                BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
                                                                        
  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF  SELF-GOVERNING  AGENCIES
  3        FOR FISCAL YEAR 2001; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  5        SECTION  1.  In  addition  to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
  6    379, Laws of 2000, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Self-Gov-
  7    erning Agencies the following amounts to be expended for the  designated  pro-
  8    grams  according  to the designated expense class from the listed fund for the
  9    period July 1, 2000, through June 30, 2001:
 10    I. BOARD OF PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERS & SURVEYORS:
 11    FOR:
 12    Operating Expenditures                                                  $7,000
 13    FROM:
 14    State Regulatory Fund                                                   $7,000
 15    II. BUREAU OF OCCUPATIONAL LICENSES:
 16    FOR:
 17    Operating Expenditures                                                  $5,000
 18    FROM:
 19    State Regulatory Fund                                                   $5,000
                                                                        
 20        SECTION 2.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 21    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 22    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose

This legislation is a fiscal year 2001 supplemental appropriation for the Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors and the Bureau of Occupational Licenses within the Department of Self-Governing Agencies totaling $12,000 in dedicated fund spending authority.

Fiscal Note

This supplemental appropriation would provide the Board of Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors with $7,000 in ongoing dedicated fund spending authority to purchase new licensing exams.

This supplemental appropriation would also provide the Bureau of Occupational Licenses with $5,000 in one-time spending authority to pay for a 6.5% increase in Attorney General fees over and above of the Attorney General’s original billing to the Bureau and the Bureau’s budgeted amount for Attorney General fees.
