                                BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
                                                                        
  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE INDUSTRIAL COMMISSION FOR  FISCAL  YEAR
  3        2002; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  4    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  5        SECTION  1.  In  addition  to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter
  6    242, Laws of 2001, there is hereby appropriated to the  Industrial  Commission
  7    the  following  amount  to be expended for the designated program according to
  8    the designated expense class from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2001,
  9    through June 30, 2002:

 12    Trustee and Benefit Payments                                          $152,300
 13    FROM:
 14    Industrial Administration Fund                                        $152,300
                                                                        
 15        SECTION 2.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 16    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 17    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose
RS11654

This is a fiscal year 2002 supplemental appropriation bill that will provide sufficient spending authority to the Industrial Commission to fund two worker safety programs at their appropriated level. The Division of Building Safety administers the two worker safety programs (Industrial Safety and Logging Safety Programs) that are funded via a pass-through of dedicated funds from the Industrial Commission.

Fiscal Note

There is no impact on the General fund. This bill provides $152,300 in dedicated funds for Trustee and Benefit expenditures for the Industrial Commission. The Industrial Commission will use these funds to make payment to the Division of Building Safety. The Industrial Commission, pursuant to Idaho Code, delegates the administration of two worker safety programs to the Division of Building Safety. This bill provides funding to meet the two worker safety programs’ FY 2002 appropriations authorized in 2001 (S1218).
