Title V of this Act contains a section governing the disclosure of "nonpublic personal information" by "financial institutions" as those terms are defined within the Act. Under Title V, state insurance regulators are responsible for enforcing the Act's privacy protections with respect to financial institutions engaged in the business of insurance. This legislation provides the Director of the Department of Insurance the authority to adopt rules to implement the privacy requirements of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act of 1999.
