                                BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
                                                                        
  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE MILITARY DIVISION FOR FISCAL YEAR 2002;
  3        REDUCING THE FISCAL YEAR 2002 APPROPRIATION FOR THE MILITARY DIVISION; AND
  4        DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 57-1601, Idaho Code,
  7    and in addition to the appropriation made in Section 1, Chapter 232,  Laws  of
  8    2001, there is hereby appropriated to the Office of the Governor for the Mili-
  9    tary  Division  the following amount to be expended for the designated program
 10    according to the designated expense class from the listed fund for the  period
 11    July 1, 2001, through June 30, 2002:
 12    MILITARY MANAGEMENT:
 13    FOR:
 14    Personnel Costs                                                       $108,600
 15    FROM:
 16    Governor's Emergency Fund                                             $108,600
                                                                        
 17        SECTION  2.  Notwithstanding  any  other provision of law to the contrary,
 18    the appropriation of moneys made to the Office of the Governor for  the  Mili-
 19    tary  Division  in  Section 1, Chapter 232, Laws of 2001, is hereby reduced by
 20    the following amount from the designated program according to  the  designated
 21    expense  class  from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2001, through June
 22    30, 2002:
 23    BUREAU OF HAZARDOUS MATERIALS:

 28        SECTION 3.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 29    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 30    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose
RS11710

This is a fiscal year 2002 supplemental appropriation for the Military Division in the Office of the Governor. Two items are addressed in this bill: (1) $108,600 in dedicated funds is provided to cover additional personnel costs incurred as a result of state active duty guardsmen providing security in and around the Capitol from October 19, 2001 to January 5, 2002; and (2) $40,000 in General Funds is returned to the General Fund from the Bureau of Hazardous Materials.

This supplemental appropriation provides spending authority in the amount of $108,600 in dedicated funds and returns $40,000 to the General Fund.
