Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                       STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
                            RS 11694

Idaho Code 33-1004 has a provision that if the allowable number
of instructional or administrative staff is not hired then the
district does not receive the salary allocation for the positions
not used. Idaho Code 33-5208 waives this provision for
instructional staff in charter schools. This means that if a
charter school has more than 13.4 support units they must hire
additional administration in order to receive the full salary
allowance. This legislation waives this requirement for charter
schools.
                          FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact on the state budget or the state
appropriation to public education.
