|||| LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF IDAHO |||| Fifty-sixth Legislature Second Regular Session - 2002IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 50 BY REVENUE AND TAXATION COMMITTEE 1 A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION 2 STATING LEGISLATIVE FINDINGS AND REQUESTING STATE AGENCIES TO SAVE PRINTING 3 COSTS WHEN REQUIRED TO REPORT TO THE LEGISLATURE BY SUBMITTING THE DOCU- 4 MENT ELECTRONICALLY. 5 Be It Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Idaho: 6 WHEREAS, the Idaho state government is facing trying times fiscally in 7 fiscal year 2002 for a variety of reasons; and 8 WHEREAS, the state agencies need to save money and economize in both small 9 and large areas; and 10 WHEREAS, some state statutes require state agencies, commissions and 11 institutions to submit reports to the Legislature on a periodic basis and some 12 state agencies, commissions and institutions submit reports to the Legislature 13 although not statutorily required to do so; and 14 WHEREAS, some of these reports are quite costly to print and distribute. 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the Second Regular Ses- 16 sion of the Fifty-sixth Idaho Legislature, the House of Representatives and 17 the Senate concurring therein, that we urge state agencies, commissions, and 18 institutions to use common sense in submitting reports to the Legislature in 19 these times of fiscal austerity and, if it feels the need to submit a report 20 to the Legislature or its members, that it do so by electronic means and save 21 the printing and postage costs, and this submission shall satisfy any statu- 22 tory requirement to submit to the Legislature. 23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Chief Clerk of the House of Representa- 24 tives shall send a copy of this resolution to the Office of the Governor and 25 the Division of Financial Management who shall send this resolution out to the 26 various state agencies, commissions and institutions.
