Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

		        Statement ot Purpose
                             RS11681

This legislation repeals a section of the State Government and State
Affairs code that became law in 1911. It is no longer needed or
feasible. This section is outdated and impractical, because county
superintendents no longer exist, and the law relating to public
schools has for decades become too extensive to be printed in
pamphlet form. It is available on-line through schools, district
offices, school and public libraries, or through county courthouses.

District administrators are well-versed in the law of education in
Idaho. Most districts purchase inexpensive, commercially-available
compilations of Idaho laws related to education, and the Idaho State
Department of Education already provides regular assistance to school
districts in this area, as well as annual updates and explanations
of changes to laws affecting education. Existing statutes in Title
33 already direct the Idaho State Department of Education to prepare
and distribute forms where necessary.
