                                BY APPROPRIATIONS COMMITTEE
                                                                        
  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF INSURANCE FOR FISCAL YEAR
  3        2004; AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME EQUIVALENT POSITION; AND DECLAR-
  4        ING AN EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in  Section  1,  Chapter
  7    169, Laws of 2003, there is hereby appropriated to the Department of Insurance
  8    the  following  amount to be expended from the designated expense classes from
  9    the listed fund for the period July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004:

 12    Capital Outlay                                                           1,500
 13      TOTAL                                                                $16,100
 14    FROM:
 15    Miscellaneous Revenue Fund                                             $16,100
                                                                        
 16        SECTION 2.  In addition to the authorization granted in Section 2, Chapter
 17    169, Laws of 2003, the Department of Insurance is authorized one (1) full-time
 18    equivalent position for the period July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004.
                                                                        
 19        SECTION 3.  An emergency existing  therefor,  which  emergency  is  hereby
 20    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 21    passage and approval.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact


Statement of Purpose
RS13684

This is a fiscal year 2004 supplemental appropriation for the Department of
Insurance. The need for this supplemental arose as a result of an increase in
funding made available to the Department which is administering a federal
grant awarded to the Office on Aging for the Medicare Education Partnership
for Idaho seniors.

Fiscal Note

This supplemental appropriation provides authorization for one (1) full-time
position and $16,100 in dedicated fund spending authority.
