Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact

                       STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
                            RS 13533C1

The purpose of this is bill is to have greater accountability
from those seeking public office in our cities with populations
of five thousand or more. This applies to campaign expenditures
on certain city elections. It amends the Idaho Code Section 50-
477 to lower the population threshold for application. It
relates to the reporting change of campaign contributions for all
elections for mayor and councilmen in cities of five thousand or
more population. On line 12 of the code it would simply replace
sixteen thousand with the number five thousand.
                         FISCAL IMPACT

There is no fiscal impact.
