  1                                        AN ACT
  2    APPROPRIATING ADDITIONAL MONEYS TO THE IDAHO  STATE  POLICE  FOR  FISCAL  YEAR
  3        2004;  AUTHORIZING  TWO  ADDITIONAL  FULL-TIME POSITIONS; AND DECLARING AN
  4        EMERGENCY.
                                                                        
  5    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  6        SECTION 1.  In addition to the appropriation made in  Section  1,  Chapter
  7    292,  Laws of 2003, there is hereby appropriated to the Idaho State Police the
  8    following amounts to be expended for the designated program according  to  the
  9    designated  expense  classes from the listed fund for the period July 1, 2003,
 10    through June 30, 2004:

 20        SECTION 2.  In addition to the authorization granted in Section 2, Chapter
 21    292, Laws of 2003, the Idaho State Police  is  authorized  two  (2)  full-time
 22    equivalent positions for the period July 1, 2003, through June 30, 2004.
                                                                        
 23        SECTION  3.  An  emergency  existing  therefor,  which emergency is hereby
 24    declared to exist, this act shall be in full force and effect on and after its
 25    passage and approval.

This is a FY 2004 Supplemental Appropriation to the Director’s Office of the Division of the Idaho State Police.

This bill authorizes an additional $54,700 in federal spending authority and increases the FTP cap for two limited service positions to support the State Interoperability Executive Council to address public safety wireless interoperability, and to develop a plan to address wide-sweeping concerns amongst emergency first responder in Idaho. The Council will hire a project manager and an administrative assistant to work on these projects.
