  1                                        AN ACT
  2    RELATING TO ARCHAIC STATUTES PERTAINING TO COUNTY SHERIFFS; REPEALING SECTIONS
  3        8-124, 8-125, 20-608 AND 20-611, IDAHO CODE, RELATING TO ESCAPE  LIABILITY
  4        FOR  SHERIFFS,  RELATING  TO ESCAPE JUDGMENT AGAINST SHERIFFS, RELATING TO
  5        REMOVAL OF PRISONERS IN CASE OF FIRE AND RELATING TO EMPLOYMENT OF  TEMPO-
  6        RARY GUARDS AT THE JAIL.
                                                                        
  7    Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Idaho:
                                                                        
  8        SECTION 1.  That Sections 8-124, 8-125, 20-608 and 20-611, Idaho Code, be,
  9    and the same are hereby repealed.

Statement of Purpose / Fiscal Impact


                    STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

This bill is designed to delete obsolete language from
the Idaho Code pertaining to duties of the sheriff in regard
to keeping of jails. The four statutes in question were all
enacted in the nineteenth century and have no application to
